Dr. Hakan Gündoğan 1971 yılında doğmuş olup 1988 yılında girdiği üniversite sınavında derece ile kazandığı Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesini derece ile yine 1994 yılında tamamlamıştır.

Tıp Uzmanlık Sınavında (TUS) ilk 10 doktor arasına girmeyi başaran Dr. Hakan Gündoğan ülkemizin en prestijli kliniklerinden biri olan Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Estetik Plastik ve Rekonstrüktif Cerrahi kliniğinde 1994 yılında asistanlığa başlamıştır.

Dr. Hakan Gündoğan sadece uzman doktorların kabul edildiği burslu Post Doctoral Fellowship pozisyonuna 2000 yılında daha asistanken kabul edilip Amerika’nın en prestijli Tıp Fakültelerinden biri olan ve dünyanın en büyük tıp merkezinde (Texas Medical Center) bulunan Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas, USA) Aesthetic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery departmanında asistanlığının son yılını tamamlamıştır.

Amerika da bulunduğu süre içinde Estetik Cerrahi deneyimini arttırırken Deneysel Mikrocerrahi alanında da bilimsel çalışmalarına devam eden Dr. Hakan Gündoğan’ın Human Genom Project kapsamında (Baylor College of Medicine Houston) geliştirdiği “Mikrovasküler Ven Greftlerinde Gen Terapisi” isimli deneysel çalışması 2001 yılında asistan bitirme tezi olarak kabul edilmiş olup ülkemizde bu alanda yayınlanan ilk çalışma olarak değerlendirilmektedir.

2001 yılında ülkesine dönen Dr. Hakan Gündoğan Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Estetik Plastik & Rekonstrüktif Cerrahi Departmanı akademik kadrosuna dahil olup yoğun estetik cerrahi pratiği arasında asistan eğitiminden sorumlu kılınıp Kraniyofasiyal Cerrahi biriminin yardımcı direktörlüğü görevini üstlenirken aynı zamanda bilimsel çalışmalarına devam etmiştir.

Ege Üniversitesindeki akademik pozisyonundan 2002 yılının son aylarında ayrılan Dr. Hakan Gündoğan aynı yıl dünyanın en büyük Plastik Cerrahi Kliniğini bünyesinde barındıran Taiwan Chang Gung Üniversitesinde her yıl sadece bir yabancı plastik cerrahın kabul edildiği Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Fellowship (Yüz ve Çene Cerrahisi Üst İhtisası) pozisyonuna burslu olarak davet edilip bir yıl boyunca yüz ve çene cerrahisi alanında ileri derecede teknik operasyonlar gerçekleştirmiş olup özellikle endoskopik meme büyütme ve yüz gençleştirme konularında deneyimini arttırmıştır.

Dr. Hakan Gündoğan 2003 yılı sonunda Taiwan Chang Gung Üniversite Hastanesinde Yüz ve Çene Cerrahisi Üst İhtisasını (Craniomaxillofacial Surgery) başarı ile tamamladıktan sonra yurda dönmüş ve İstanbul da Prof. Dr. Onur Erol’un yanında Estetik Cerrahi Üst İhtisasına (Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship) başlamıştır.

2004 yılı ortasında Estetik Cerrahi Üst İhtisasını bitirmesini müteakip Prof. Dr. Onur Erol tarafından Onep Estetik Cerrahi Kliniği bünyesine davet edilen Dr. Hakan Gündoğan 2008 yılı sonuna kadar burada estetik cerrahi ağırlıklı olmak üzere çalışmıştır.

Ülkemizde formal Estetik Plastik ve Rekonstrüktif Cerrahi eğitiminin üzerine uluslararası kuruluşlar tarafından tanınmış olan Yüz & Çene Cerrahisi Üst İhtisası (Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship) ve ayrıca Estetik Cerrahi Üst İhtisasını (Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship) tamamlayan bir kaç doktordan biri olan Dr. Hakan Gündoğan 2006 yılında Türk Estetik Plastik ve Rekonstrüktif Cerrahi Derneğinin yazılı ve sözlü sınavlarını başarı ile tamamlayan ilk Board Certified Plastik Cerrah olmuştur..

2009 yılında kendi kliniğini kuran Dr. Hakan Gündoğan aynı zamanda Arnavutluk Tiran Amerikan Hastanesinde Plastik Cerrahi Departmanını kurmuş ve bu ülkede düzenli aralıklar ile bulunup estetik operasyonlar gerçekleştirmiştir. Düzenli aralıklarla ziyaret ettiği Titan Amerikan Hastanesindeki yoğun estetik cerrahi pratiğine ilaven yine bu ülkede başta dudak-damak yarıklı çocuklar olmak üzere bir çok yardım amaçlı rekonstrüktif operasyonlar gerçekleştirmiştir.

2014-2016 yılları arasında Türk Estetik Cerrahi Derneği Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliği yapan Dr. Hakan Gündoğan aynı zamanda bu pozisyona meslektaşları tarafından seçilen en genç Plastik Cerrah olma onuruna sahip olmuştur.

Dr. Hakan Gündoğan, İstanbul’daki yoğun pratiğine rağmen özellikle genç Plastik Cerrahların eğitimine katkı amacı ile 2016 yılının ikinci yarısını Ege Üniversitesi Plastik Cerrahi Kliniğinde misafir cerrah olarak geçirmiştir.

Evli ve bir kız babası olan Dr. Hakan Gündoğan İngilizce ve İspanyolca bilmek de olup şu an için 17 adet prestijli yurtdışı dergilerde ve 8 adet yurtiçi dergilerde yayınlanmış bilimsel makaleleri ve 50 den fazla yurtiçi ve yurtdışı toplantılarda bildirisi mevcuttur. Kariyeri boyunca yüze yakın yurtiçi ve yurtdışı bilimsel kongreye katılan Dr. Hakan Gündoğan bu toplantıların bir çoğuna tecrübelerini paylaşmak amacıyla davet edilmiş olup halen çeşitli yurt içi ve yurt dışı toplantılara eğitmen ve konuşmacı olarak davet edilmektedir.

2014 yılında kliniğini İstanbul’un en prestijli lokalizasyonlarından biri olan Levent’e, 2017 yılında ise Bağdat Caddesine taşımış olup halen bu lokalizasyonda hasta kabulünü sürdürmektedir

 

 

Dr. Hakan Gundogan graduated with honours in 1994 from prestigious Ege University School of Medicine in Izmir, Turkey. Following his success in National Medical Board Exam with having a position in Top 10 Medical Doctors, Dr. Gundogan commenced seven years of Aesthetic, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery residency training at one of the top Plastic Surgery Program in country in Ege University.

Dr. Hakan Gundogan completed last year of his residency between 2000 -2001 in Houston, TX, USA as an International Scholar Aesthetic Surgery Fellow at one of the most prestigious Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Clinic in the world, Baylor College of Medicine in Texas Medical Center, Houston, Texas, USA.

Texas Medical Center is the largest medical center in the world, and the Baylor Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Fellowship position afforded Dr. Gundogan unmatched experience in every type of plastic and reconstructive surgery, and particularly in aesthetic surgery.

Following his return to Turkey in 2001, Dr. Hakan Gundogan presented his dissertational research thesis which was a part of world known “Human Genome Project” entitled “Prevention of Vascular Thrombosis in Microvascular Vein Grafts Using Gene Therapy: An Experimental Model on Rats” as the first of its kind in the country.

Upon completion of his residency training in 2001, Dr. Hakan Gundogan was rewarded as an academic faculty position in the Department of Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Ege University Medical School. In addition to his busy clinical practice, he was active in teaching plastic surgery residents, conducting clinical and basic science research, and co-directed the craniofacial surgery program.

In year 2003 Dr. Hakan Gundogan has been invited to the international scholarship Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Fellowship program in world-known Chang Gung University Hospital, Taiwan. There he worked side by side with world-renowned leaders in the specialty and gained unparalleled experience in facial plastic surgery.

Following completion of his Craniomaxillofacial Surgery training in Taiwan, Dr. Gundogan returned to country in 2004 and completed one year aesthetic surgery fellowship program at ONEP Clinic in Istanbul under the auspicious of Prof. Dr. Onur Erol. Soon after completion of his intensive aesthetic surgery fellowship program, Dr. Gundogan has been offered a partnership position as an attending aesthetic surgeon at ONEP Clinic in Istanbul by Prof. Dr. Onur Erol focusing on aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body with a subspecialty in rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, body contouring and facial rejuvenation. In his private practice, he has developed his own versions of aesthetic rejuvenation procedures by incorporating the best procedural components from his mentors.

In year 2006, the Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons granted Dr. Gundogan as a “Diplomat of the Board of Plastic Surgery” after the first formal Board Examination in the country. This means Dr. Gundogan has met rigorous educational and residency training requirements, passed exhaustive written and oral examinations, and received the approval of his medical peers.

Upon completion of his partnership with ONEP Clinic, Dr. Hakan Gundogan opened his own private practice in 2008 in Bagdad Avenue, one of the most prestigious and convenient location in Istanbul, focused solely aesthetic surgical procedures as well as non-invasive cosmetic modalities.

Among his busy practice in Istanbul, Dr. Hakan Gundogan has founded Aesthetic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Department in Tirana American Hospital, Albania and operated vast numbers of aesthetic surgery patient along with reconstructive surgeries mainly on children as a part of charity organizations.

Dr. Hakan Gundogan has moved his private practice in 2014 to its current location in Levent, one of the most prestigious, affluent and convenient neighborhoods of Istanbul.

Dr. Hakan Gundogan has been elected by his colleagues as the board member of Turkish Aesthetic Surgery Society as the youngest plastic surgeon in its history and continued to work actively in this organization between years 2014-2016 as a board member.

Despite his busy aesthetic practice, Dr. Hakan Gundogan has never halted his educational activities, especially training young surgeons on aesthetic face and breast surgery as well as craniofacial surgery and even though his heavy workload solely focused on aesthetic surgery in Istanbul, was consuming much of the time, he worked actively as a volunteer visiting craniofacial/aesthetic surgeon during weekdays in Ege University Medical School, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery during second half of year 2016.

Married with a father of a lovely baby girl, Dr. Hakan Gundogan is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Hakan is one of the few aesthetic & plastic surgeon in the country who have undergone formal post graduate training in both aesthetic and craniomaxillofacial surgery, has published more than 25 scientific papers both in prestigious international and national journals and attended more than 100 scientific meeting so far in his professional career.

Dr. Hakan Gundogan regularly presents his work at national and international academic meetings and professional societies as an invited lecturer mainly focused on subspecialties in aesthetic surgery field such as “High SMAS Facelift”, “Dual Plane Breast Augmentation”, “Structural Rhinoplasty”, “Pectoral Implant Surgery on Men” and “Hi Definition VASER Liposculpture”.
